The Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia enjoyed broad media coverage in 2008, generating 28.4 million online, broadcast, print, and advertising impressions.

Media coverage reached more than 18 million readers/viewers/listeners. Coverage was secured in a wide variety of local and regional print and broadcast outlets. The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Philadelphia Weekly, Philadelphia City Paper, The Metro, 28 regional weekly newspapers, Fox29, NBC10, 6ABC, CBS3 and CN8 all ran pre- and day-of event coverage.

While we continued to focus on increased print, broadcast, and online coverage, we also expanded our paid marketing efforts. For the first time, we participated in a co-op advertising program, garnering more than 6.1 million impressions in the Philadelphia and South Jersey regions.

In addition, we expanded our marketing efforts with a direct-to-participant program at 30th Street Station. Over a two week period, the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival message was seen by nearly 350,000 passengers, while Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia volunteers distributed 2,500 event brochures and 2,500 Dine Out Japan discount coupons to Amtrak, SEPTA, and NJ Transit travelers.

The Festival was featured on more than 50 different Web sites and the Festival Web site, www.PhiladelphiaCherryBlossomFestival.com, generated more than 4.3 million hits, a 50 percent increase over 2007, over a three-month period.
