On the First Day of Spring, the Blossoming Begins!

Image
We're pleased to announce today, the first day of spring, that some varieties of Philadelphia's cherry trees have begun to blossom! Reports are coming in from various spots in the city where some of the earlier blooming varieties, such as okame, have been sighted in bloom. This marks the beginning of the yearly process by which Philadelphia is beautified with flowering trees that have been a part of the city for decades. Join us in celebration of spring time as we prepare for this year's festival!
