Sponsor a Cherry Tree

To carry on the legacy of the Japanese government's 1926 gift of 1600 ornamental cherry blossom trees to the City of Philadelphia, The Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia set out to plant 1,000 trees in Fairmount Park. Though this goal was met in 2007, tree plantings will continue in Philadelphia community parks to help purify our environment and further beautify the backdrop for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, a city-wide celebration of Japanese culture that cherishes the arrival of spring under blossoming cherry trees.

Your financial contribution helps cover the cost to purchase, plant and water trees. Donations can be made in honor or in memory of a loved one. A cherry tree also makes a wonderful and unique holiday, birthday, retirement, or graduation gift. Contributions can be made as listed above, or in any amount of your choice. All donations are fully tax-deductible.

Your donation will be recognized with a commemorative certificate, mailed to you or to the party of your choice.
